About the Event
Valery Perry (Democratization Policy Council, Sarajevo) will discuss the potential impact of President Harris or Trump on the region of the former Yugoslavia. In conversation with Peter Korchnak (Yugoblok).
Discussion topics will include:
- History of U.S. – Balkans relations under Presidents Trump and Biden
- 2024 presidential candidates’ policies on Europe and the Balkans
- Potential repercussions of either candidate’s election on the countries of the former Yugoslavia
Valery Perry (PhD, George Mason University) is based in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has worked for a range of organizations including the Democratization Policy Council, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, various UN agencies and a number of non-governmental organizations. She has published numerous articles on topics including democratization, corruption, and extremism in the Balkans, is editor/co-editor of two books, and directed and produced the documentary film Looking for Dayton (2020). She is also a founding board member and volunteer with the Ex-Yu Rock Centar in Sarajevo and a Yugoblok member.
